Pursena Adordia

Pursena is the granddaughter of Buldog, head of the Adoldia clan, guardians of the Great Forest, and the daughter of Tertelia, the clan's heir. The Adoldia clan, like the kindred Dedoldia clan, traces back to the times of the end of the First Human–Demon War and to the Beast God Gigar, who united the beast peoples; thus the clan's descendants are figures of special significance, beastfolk princesses of a sort, comparable to the princesses of Asura.

She was sent to Ranoa Magic University together with Linia Dedoldia so that, far from their home lands where their title “means nothing,” they would acquire humility and knowledge. The clan's influence, however, made itself felt there too: the teachers fawned over them, and the two quickly went bad, becoming the ringleaders of a delinquent “pack.” After the guardian mage Fitz (Sylphie) thoroughly taught them a lesson, and Princess Ariel then arrived, their influence collapsed.

Pursena is a beast-race girl often found gnawing on dried meat. At first an arrogant leader of a delinquent «pack», she mellowed over time into an easy-going classmate and friend of Rudeus. She is blunt and quick-tongued — it was she who jokingly spread the campus rumor that Rudeus was «harmless» and possibly «impotent», judging by how he groped girls but went no further.

With a beast's sense of smell she quickly detects another's mood and intent to fight.

When Pursena and Linia, out of revenge, smashed the figurine of Roxy that Zanoba had staked in a duel, the enraged Rudeus subjected them to an “abduction and punishment”: together with Zanoba he ambushed and overpowered them both, teaching them a lesson for destroying what was dear to him (the episode largely mirrors how Sauros once dealt with Eris).

After this, Pursena becomes part of Rudeus's university crowd alongside Linia, Zanoba, and Cliff — he teases them constantly, and they tease him back. By graduation she remains a good friend of his.
