Sauros Boreas Greyrat

Sauros is a hot-blooded, willful old aristocrat, the Boreas lord and ruler of Fittoa. He could make decisions on personal whim and disliked those not to his taste. Active and energetic, he personally toured his domain on horseback, checked the harvest, and asked after his granddaughter Eris, whom he doted on; Eris imitated him in everything and counted him her favorite person.

Like many in his family, he secretly favored the beast race. In the manor's tower he was rumored to indulge in amorous pastimes.

It was in Sauros's manor that Rudeus served as Eris's tutor. When Darius once took a fancy to Eris and asked Sauros for her, Sauros refused — which, per the steward Alphonse, became the cause of the abduction Darius arranged for the girl.

During the Teleport Incident that devastated the Fittoa region, Sauros was made to bear responsibility for the catastrophe as a lightning rod for popular discontent and noble power struggles — and was executed. This happened even though the natural disaster could not have been prevented.

Ghislaine, who had served House Boreas for years, swore to avenge Lord Sauros and behead those who framed him — and set off for Asura to that end; Rudeus pointed her toward Ariel as an ally.
