Ariel Anemoi Asura

Ariel is the second princess of the Asura Kingdom. In the struggle for the throne her faction lost: the high minister Darius Silva Ganius, acting as kingmaker, placed the first prince Gravel on the throne and forced Ariel to flee the country. With two bodyguards — the knight Luke and the guardian-mage Fitz (Sylphie) — she came to study at the Ranoa Magic University.

There she spent nearly ten years building a network of contacts and preparing her return, biding her time until she could fight for the throne.

Ariel is a brilliantly gifted, charming, and calculating princess. At the Magic University she joins the student council in her very first year and is renowned as a top student; commoners and soldiers love her — returning to the capital she is greeted like a hero, her carriage showered with flowers.

She is pragmatic and thinks in terms of statecraft: she forges alliances readily, values strong family ties (even to the idea of betrothing allies' children to the royal house), and settles many matters with the power of money. Yet she genuinely cherishes her decade-long friendship with Sylphie and knows how to thank from the heart.

On learning of her royal father's incurable illness, Ariel returns to Asura to fight for the throne. Rudeus, having allied with Orsted (who needs Ariel as king to avert a future crisis of the kingdom), backs her. In the capital Ars a decisive showdown unfolds with Darius's faction.

In ten days Ariel prepares a «venue» — a reception to bring Pergius into the kingdom and topple Darius. The enemy — the hired Water God Reida and North Gods (Ober and others) — attack; they are repelled and defeated by Rudeus, Eris, Sylphie, and Ghislaine. Darius is beaten, Pergius accepted, Gravel surpassed.

Victory is sealed: Ariel becomes the undisputed heir and, in time, Queen of Asura. Sylphie formally leaves her bodyguard post and returns to the family; Luke becomes head of House Notos. Thereafter Ariel remains a reliable ally of Rudeus and Orsted, helps gather forces for the coming Laplace war, and together with Rudeus founds a state university.

Through a stone communication slab installed by Orsted, Ariel kneels each night before the glowing slab and mutters a vow to defeat «that scoundrel» — the Man-God.

In gratitude for his help, Ariel gives Rudeus a manor with servants in Asura and pledges support for his ventures — workshops and figurine sales — easily settling matters with the Milis Church by «the power of money».
