Why we do this

Most of the best web novels of our time are written in Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Many of them wait decades for a complete translation into Russian, English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Ukrainian, French — and often never get one. The existing fan teams do heroic work, but they physically cannot cover every language at once while keeping pace with the original.

Ranobeki is an attempt to give this genre modern infrastructure: quality translation from the Chinese/Korean/Japanese source into seven languages at once, a deep Wiki that evolves alongside the story, and a calm, typographically refined reading experience on any device.

What we do differently

Translating from the original, not from a translation

We translate directly from the source language (CN/KR/JP) into each target language, without using ready-made intermediate translations as a source. This preserves the author's rhythm, cultural references, and idioms — the things usually lost in a double translation. We study existing fan translations as a source of signal for verification and for adopting established terminology, but we never publish them under our name.

The glossary is not an add-on, it's the foundation

For every series we build a curated glossary: character names, locations, system terms, iconic concepts. Each entry holds a canonical form in the source language and the target languages, aliases (inflections, nicknames, historical variants), a description, and the context of its first appearance. This guarantees that Klein Moretti in chapter 12 is the same Klein Moretti in chapter 250, and that "The Fool's Path" is translated the same way in every context.

A Wiki in sync with your reading

The Ranobeki Wiki is built from the same glossary, so it is always consistent with the translation. In the future — a Wiki with automatic spoiler caps: you won't see information from chapter 500 until you've read up to it. It is not a global fandom overview of "everything at once," but a careful guide through the story at your own pace.

Respect for the author and translation teams

Every chapter includes attribution to the original author and publisher. We do not claim rights to the works themselves and rely on the derivative-work doctrine in the same form that amateur translation communities have used for decades. Existing translation teams (Ranobelib, ruranobe, the Wuxiaworld team, CKTalon, and many others) are our respected predecessors: we do not compete with them, we do what they lacked the capacity or the languages to do.

What's available now

The site is in Early Access. At present, the opening part of "Lord of the Mysteries" has been fully translated from the Chinese original into Russian. New series and additional translation languages will appear in the coming weeks.

Openness

Ranobeki is not a venture-backed commercial company, nor a platform with aggressive monetization. It is an infrastructure project for the community of readers. When we reach sustainability through subscriptions, premium translation, or reader support, we will tell you about it honestly and transparently. Until then, it is a research-stage, evolving product.
