Content Removal Requests

Our position

Ranobeki is an amateur translation platform. We create derivative works (translations) from source texts written by other authors and published on various platforms. This is the same model under which fan translation communities have worked for decades — and we strive to behave responsibly toward the original authors and rights holders.

If you are the author of an original work, a rights holder, or their authorized representative and believe that our translation infringes your rights — we are ready to review and grant your request quickly and without escalation, provided the necessary information.

Attribution policy

Every published chapter contains an attribution block indicating:

We do not claim rights to the original works themselves and derive no commercial benefit from their distribution (as of the writing of this page).

How to submit a removal request

Send an email to [email protected] containing:

  1. Identification of the protected work (title, author, ISBN, or URL of the original)
  2. The specific URLs on our site that you are asking to remove
  3. Your statement that you are the rights holder or an authorized representative (indicating your relationship to the work)
  4. Contact details (email, phone, physical address)
  5. A statement under oath as to the good faith of the request (formula: "I declare, under penalty of perjury, that the information in this notice is accurate and that I am the rights holder or am authorized to act on their behalf")
  6. A signature (an electronic signature is accepted)

We aim to respond within 5 business days. In the vast majority of well-founded cases, content is removed within 48 hours of the request being confirmed.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed pursuant to a request you consider unfounded (for example, mistaken identification or fair use), you may submit a counter-notice to the same address [email protected] with a justification. We review counter-notices and, where necessary, restore the content.

Repeat infringers

Although Ranobeki currently has no user-generated content (users do not upload their own content), once such functionality appears we will have a policy of restricting the accounts of repeat infringers in accordance with standard DMCA practice.

Contact and general questions

For non-DMCA questions about our translations or suggestions regarding attribution, use [email protected].

We are open to dialogue with rights holders and translation teams. Often a simple request to improve attribution or add a link to the original resolves the matter without a formal DMCA process.
