Linia Dedordia

Linia is the granddaughter of Gustav, head of the Dedoldia clan, guardians of the Great Forest, and the daughter of Gyes, the clan's war chief and heir. She is the niece of Ghislaine — the former “princess” of this clan. The Dedoldia clan is foremost among the peoples of the Great Forest, direct descendants of the Beast God Gigar; thus Linia is a figure of special significance, a beastfolk princess of a sort.

Like Pursena, she was sent to Ranoa Magic University for the sake of humility and study. Wielding the clan's “Voice Magic,” with high agility and a fondness for fighting, the two of them quickly grew conceited and became the ringleaders of a delinquent “pack,” until Fitz (Sylphie) taught them a lesson and the arriving Princess Ariel outshone them.

Linia is a hot-tempered, flighty beast-race girl who tacks a characteristic «nya» onto her speech. At first a haughty ringleader, she flares up easily and hurls threats like «I'll strip you and douse you with water». But behind the bravado lies a far softer nature than that of truly fierce fighters: unlike Eris, she attacks clumsily and predictably.

Impulsive and jealous, she is quickly caught up in others' ideas — once she abruptly proposed to Rudeus that they «date to make someone jealous».

For destroying the figurine of Roxy that Zanoba had staked, Linia, together with Pursena, was ambushed and overpowered by Rudeus and Zanoba: Rudeus, with counterstrikes and earth magic, immobilized her before her “Voice Magic” could take effect. After this “punishment,” Linia becomes part of Rudeus's university crowd.

Impulsive and not indifferent, she often gets irritated over others' relationships and at times pushes herself on Rudeus as a “partner,” but by graduation she remains a good friend of his, on a par with Pursena, Zanoba, and Cliff.
