Description

Darius is a powerful and dissolute grandee who rose rapidly at the Asura court. He is dogged by «dark rumors»: he is used to getting what he wants by any means and does not shrink from abduction. Once, having seen the young Eris, he desired her — and, refused by Sauros, arranged her kidnapping.

Story

Darius is Ariel's chief political opponent. Acting as a puppeteer, he placed the elder prince Gravel on the throne and forced the second princess Ariel to flee the country. After her exile, the influence of the faction of House Notos (Pilemon), which had supported Ariel, fell sharply, and Pilemon sought to defect to the victor, Darius.

When Ariel returned to the capital Ars, Darius set against her hired top-tier swordsmen — the Water God Reida and the North Gods. In the decisive confrontation his forces were crushed by Rudeus, Eris, Sylphie, and Ghislaine, and Darius himself was struck down. With his death, confusion arose at court, but Ariel advanced confidently toward the throne, filling the void left by Darius with her own people.

Trivia

In the Russian translation his name is rendered Dalius (with an «l»), in full Dalius Silva Ganius.

It was Darius who, as later revealed, stood behind the kidnapping of Eris that Rudeus himself had once «investigated» and staged years earlier.
