Story
He reports the running tallies and the spoils of campaign to Lorist — grain, iron, fabric (ch 161). He is drawn into the dispute around Lady Baisha and the boy borne to the late brother by a maid (chs 167-168).
During Steward Hansek's rebellion (ch 485) he ends up under guard, but Hansek releases him; Spel departs unharmed with his family for Sakura Ridge. After the rebellion is put down he remains in service, safe and sound.
