Frey Raon Starlight

Frey Raon Starlight is the first son of the ducal Starlight house, the revered lineage of the Hero who slew the first Demon King a thousand years ago. Guided by his world-hopping ancestor's 'Game Knowledge,' he deliberately became the Empire's greatest villain and destroyed the previous timeline — the only way to unlock the 'System' and its 'Hidden Route' to a true happy ending. At the end of that run he blew himself up alongside the Demon King 'to gain the System,' then regressed.

His title is 'Path of False Evil': he isn't evil, he only performs it, shielding the Empire at the cost of his reputation and a cursed, limited lifespan. The System pays him 'False Evil Points' for insincere cruelty and warns him of daily lethal threats via 'False Evil's Intuition.'

The problem: the Main Heroines regressed with their memories of dying because of him, so instead of the game's intended harem he faces a circle of women determined to kill him. Dry, sardonic and quietly guilt-ridden, Frey spends the story surviving them, averting the world's 'bad endings' one Trial at a time, and hiding the truth of his sacrifice — and, ultimately, that he is the true Hero.
