Description
The world is a living game, 'Dark Tale Fantasy.' A thousand years ago Frey's ancestor, a player from another world, was pulled inside and dragged the doomed setting to a happy ending using his 'Game Knowledge,' leaving descendants a prophecy (written, as a running joke, in 'Hangul').
The crucial lore comes from the reviled sequel, 'Dark Tale Fantasy 2': to grant this world its happy ending, the Hero must first destroy it to obtain the System and the Hidden Route — the design that dooms Frey to play the villain.
