Descripción
The Liberation Alliance is a clandestine revolutionary organization built up over centuries by the ninth-ranked Demon Lord Paimon — the only union, as its members proudly call it, of the human and demon worlds. Its creed holds that every thinking being is fundamentally equal, regardless of race or station, friend or foe; its members swear to spend blood and sweat on revolution until the appointed day. The Alliance binds new members by a magical oath of secrecy and greets each with the slogan «Нас много, но мы едины. За революцию.» Outwardly it has no army of its own — it works through the people it has placed in power.
**Знакомство в развалинах замка (ch 150).** After Dantalion shatters Princess Elisabeth and proves himself a worthy ally, Paimon summons him by night to a ruined castle and unveils the Alliance: twelve hooded branch chiefs rooted in every kingdom of the continent. Among them are Anna de Bis, general manager and a member of Batavia's Council of Thirteen; the dwarf Jacques Bonhomme (Jacquerie), chief of the Frank branch and captain of the «Двойной топор» mercenaries; Wat Tyler of Berniicia; and Stefan Timofeevich Razin, who commands the Don Cossacks for the Moscow branch. Dantalion swears the oath and is welcomed as the Alliance's «вечный соратник».
**Скрытая рука республиканизма (ch 198, Война лилий).** The Alliance's reach is far deeper than Dantalion imagined: its agents sit as high officials of kingdoms and as the core power of republics. Its crowning asset is the Batavia Republic, secretly governed by Paimon herself, which fields the strongest fleet on the continent. During the Lily War Dantalion uses the network as his lever — staging peasant revolts, «liberating» towns through the «Двойной топор» band, and conjuring Batavian reinforcements on demand — turning a Frankish civil quarrel into a continental war that traps Queen Henrietta and cripples Elisabeth.
**Наследование (ch 404).** When Paimon is killed shielding Dantalion, the twelve chiefs gather at her funeral above the sinking sky-castle «Небесный сад». Dantalion refuses to dress her death in noble lies, calling it the murder it was, and pledges that his mourning will take the form of revolution. Jacquerie — Paimon's most fervent disciple — moves first to name him the new leader; after Anna de Bis casts the final vote out of trust in Paimon's judgement, the succession is unanimous (nine in favour, two abstaining, none against). Paimon's continent-spanning web of agents now passes wholly into Dantalion's hands.
By inheriting the Alliance, Dantalion completes his command over every theatre of power: dominant in both the Plains and Mountain factions of the Demon Lords, master of the Kunkuska Trading Company's wealth, and now holding a secret organization stretched across the human continent like a spider's web. He turns its idealism to his own ends — abolishing slavery across races, toppling the Frank Empire, freeing the Sardinian free cities — wielding Paimon's dream of equality as one more instrument in his designs.
Structure and creed
The Alliance is led by a single head — Paimon, then Dantalion — over twelve branch chiefs, each rooted in a kingdom of the continent as a high official, a nomad chieftain, or a core figure of a republic. Decisions of leadership require unanimity, so a single dissenting vote risks a schism. Its named officers include the general manager Anna de Bis (Batavia, of the Council of Thirteen), Jacques Bonhomme «Jacquerie» (Frank Empire, the «Двойной топор» band), Wat Tyler (Berniicia), and Stefan Timofeevich Razin (Moscow, the Don Cossacks). New members are bound by a magical oath of secrecy; the creed proclaims that all thinking beings are fundamentally equal and pledges blood and sweat to revolution «до наступления того рокового дня». The slogan is «Нас много, но мы едины. За революцию.»
An idealist's dream as a tyrant's tool
Where Paimon built the Alliance out of genuine love for the equality of all beings, Dantalion inherits it as a perfect instrument. Combined with his dominance over the Plains Faction (Barbatos) and the Mountain Faction (Paimon, then Sitri), the wealth of the Kunkuska Trading Company, and his shadow-rule of the Habsburg Empire, the network makes him the «архетипичный Повелитель демонов» — Ivar Lodbrok takes to muttering the legend of Angolmois at the sight of him. He bends the Alliance's republican ideals to his own plans: abolishing slavery across races, toppling the Frank Empire, and freeing Sardinia's cities, all advancing his greater design while honouring, in form, the dream Paimon died for.
