Tyne appears in the pages of the novel in the episodes related to the Secret Domain, an isolated space where two enemy sorcerer forces summon their disciples and pit them against one another in fierce combat. In this domain there is no sun, no moon and no stars; nevertheless, during the day the sky lights up on its own, and when night falls that light fades, thereby marking the passage of the hours. Here a special pact holds sway: duels to the death mean that the life and death of the participants rest upon their own conscience, and breaking these rules brings grave consequences. In the course of these events, Tyne is mentioned alongside figures such as Leylin and Duolote, in the episodes of confrontation between disciples of rival magical forces. His role remains episodic: his name arises in the chapters devoted to the intrigues and skirmishes within the Secret Domain, where Leylin, relying on the extensive knowledge and database of the Chip, gradually comes to understand the workings of that enclosed world and the rules to which all its inhabitants are obliged to submit.
