World & Timeline
The story unfolds in a world where magic is a craft open only to those who can accumulate mana and shape it into exact spell formulas. A Magus's strength is measured in Circles: from the first, apprentice Circle to the ninth — and beyond, toward legendary heights. The higher the Circle, the rarer the mage, and the more books, spells and years his path has cost.
At the heart of the magical world stands the Meltor Empire and its Seven Towers, each under its own colour: White, Red, Blue, Yellow and others. The Towers hoard knowledge, train wizards and weave their own intrigues; the title of Tower Master is contested in a quiet but merciless struggle. Beside them sits the magic academy, where heirs of great houses and hopeless underachievers like Theodore alike come to study.
Yet beyond the academy walls the world is far more dangerous. Demons claw up from the depths, the ruins of the Age of Myths stir to life, and the ancient gods and their legacy are a reminder that the present age of magic is only one of many. Into this world an ordinary student receives the grimoire Gluttony — a book that devours other books, turning their knowledge into his own power.
