Description
The System is a magical program that activated in Sung Jin-Woo's mind after he survived the Double Dungeon incident. It selected him as its sole Player, granting him a unique interface that resembled a video game.
Through the System, Jin-Woo could receive daily and special quests, gain experience points and level up, assign stat points, and access a skill list. It also provided a System Store where he could purchase items with gold, an Unlimited Inventory that defied physical space, and the ability to create Instant Dungeons for private training.
Beyond basic game mechanics, the System unlocked two crucial powers for Jin-Woo: Shadow Extraction, which allowed him to raise defeated enemies as loyal shadow soldiers, and Soul Extraction, which let him collect souls to further empower himself.
It was ultimately revealed that the System was created from the divine authority of Ashborn, the original Shadow Monarch. Ashborn designed it as a tool to gradually transfer his power and role to a worthy human vessel, masking the process behind a familiar game-like facade.
After Jin-Woo reset the timeline, he modified the System and passed it on to his son, Sung Suho, turning him into the new Player. It was also discovered that other Monarchs had created their own versions of the System for their respective heirs, each overseen by a moderator entity.
A being known as Kandiaru served as the System's administrator, monitoring Jin-Woo's progress and enforcing its rules, acting as an intermediary between the Player and the System's true purpose.
