Synopsis
Iwatani Naofumi, a college student and unrepentant otaku, is pulled into a parallel world to serve as one of the four Cardinal Heroes. The other three are summoned alongside him with swords, spears and bows — Naofumi gets a shield and the reputation that comes with it: the weakest of the four, fit only to draw aggression while the real heroes fight.
On the first day, the kingdom that summoned him stages a betrayal that strips him of his money, his reputation, and his trust in anyone. Branded a criminal in a world he didn't choose, he sets out to grow strong on his own terms — one demi-human companion, one improvised tactic, one Wave of Catastrophe at a time.
