Description
A Red Gate is a special category of Gate that differs fundamentally from ordinary Gates in one critical property: once a group of humans crosses its threshold, the entrance seals itself completely behind them, cutting off all means of return.
Unlike a standard Gate, which can be reopened from the outside by Hunters or Association personnel, a Red Gate isolates everyone inside from the rest of the world. There is no retreat, no outside rescue, and no communication with the surface until the Gate’s internal conditions are satisfied or it naturally dissipates.
Because of this absolute sealing property, Red Gates are classified as exceptionally dangerous. Any party that enters one must rely entirely on its own strength and cooperation to survive the monsters and environmental hazards within; even the most powerful guilds treat a Red Gate raid with the utmost caution.
Red Gates have been the backdrop for some of the most perilous dungeon encounters in the series, often leading to high casualty rates when unprepared or under‑ranked Hunters are trapped inside. Their unpredictable appearance and the impossibility of outside help make them one of the most feared phenomena among Hunters.
