Description
The Jeju Island S-Rank Gate is a massive Gate that appeared on Jeju Island, unleashing a horde of dangerous giant ants that quickly overran the island.
In response, the Korean government launched two search-and-destroy missions to reclaim the island, both of which ended in failure as the ants proved too numerous and powerful to eliminate.
The third mission resulted in the death of Eunseok, a highly valued S-Rank Hunter, prompting the government to officially abandon efforts to retake Jeju. The island was left isolated in the hope that the ants would eventually starve.
Instead, the ants adapted and evolved, growing wings that allowed them to fly over long distances. They began attacking civilians on nearby islands, causing further casualties and demonstrating that the threat from the gate was far from over.
