Description
Beru was the right hand of the Ant King during the S-rank Gate disaster on Jeju Island, serving as a winged lieutenant among the ant army that threatened Korea.
When Sung Jin-Woo defeated the Ant King and raised its army as shadow soldiers, Beru rose alongside them. He eventually ascended to the rank of Marshal within the Shadow Army, becoming one of Sung Jin-Woo's most powerful servants.
Despite his terrifying insect form and fearsome combat ability, Beru is unfailingly polite and deeply loyal to his master. He addresses Sung Jin-Woo reverently as "My Liege", a title he uses with absolute sincerity.
Between battles, Beru takes it upon himself to maintain his master's apartment, chirping contentedly as he cleans — a stark contrast to his battlefield ferocity.
Beru possesses the ability to speak human language and retains the memories and personality traits of his former life, making him unusually expressive for a shadow soldier.
The side story "Your Daily Life" shows Beru still on patrol after the main arc, quietly enforcing Sung Jin-Woo's justice across modern Seoul.
