Description
Novem Forxuz is the second daughter of the Baron House Forxuz, a vassal (sub-vassal) family that has faithfully served House Walt for generations. Betrothed to Lyle Walt by his parents when he was thirteen, she is by every measure a flawless bride candidate under House Walt's code: composed, strictly raised, well-educated, and a noted beauty. When Lyle loses his position as heir to his younger sister Celes and is stripped of everything and exiled, Novem is the one person who has nothing to gain yet chooses to stay — declaring with a smile that she will still marry him and leaving with him on the merchant's cart.
In the early journey she is the practical, caretaking presence at Lyle's side: she manages their dwindling money, tends to him, and negotiates their lodging. A dedicated magic specialist, she has devoted herself entirely to the difficult and demanding path of light magic (магия света), fighting with a magic staff; adventurers rate her light magic as unequivocally top-tier in Darion. Where Lyle is the reluctant swordsman guided by the seven ancestral spirits sealed in his blue jewel, Novem is the poised mage who quietly steers events, often seeming to have anticipated his choices before he makes them.
Her true nature is a slow-burning revelation. Novem is the inheritor of the memory and part of the power of the Evil God / Goddess (the monster-beauty Agrissa), a being society names the Goddess of Evil — the dark counterpart to Celes, who carries the goddess Septem's memory. Her House Forxuz has secretly protected and guided House Walt (which carries the 'goddess's blood') from the shadows across generations, and she deliberately assembled the harem of women around Lyle. Having outlived those around her by carrying the goddess's strength, she manipulates the story from behind a serene smile.
Her arc culminates when she turns on Lyle as a final adversary, forcing him to fight and demanding that he kill her — threatening others if he will not. Refusing to give up or to strike her down, Lyle presses the attack relentlessly to reach the real person beneath the god's influence; as the Evil God and Goddess peel away, her genuine feelings and tears surface. He confesses that she alone — not the Fallen Goddess, not any past Novem, but the true her — is his highest priority and that he loves her. She surrenders, and in the end is chosen as his official principal wife, becoming empress at his side.
