Bai Ning Bing

Bai Ning Bing is an ice-and-snow path Gu cultivator of the Southern Border and the inheritor of the legendary Bai Xiang, born with the rare Northern Dark Ice Soul Physique. Coldly intelligent and originally male, Bai Ning Bing is one of the first major companions Fang Yuan gathers on his path.

After a life-and-death battle forced Bai Ning Bing to self-detonate, Fang Yuan used a Yin-Yang Rotation Gu to 'revive' Bai and permanently transform her into a woman, then held the key to reversing that change to keep her at his side. Traveling with him she absorbs his cunning while repeatedly scheming for her freedom, later falling in with the mysterious Shadow Sect.

Having decided that kinship is a hollow facade and loneliness the deepest darkness, Bai Ning Bing began life as a nihilist whose only joy was battling and killing the powerful. Meeting Fang Yuan overturns that outlook, turning Bai into an almost suicidal thrill-seeker — utterly amoral, yet quietly loyal to the rare few who help wholeheartedly.
