Mortar

Mortar is an ancient elder, called the oldest living dark elf, who leads a broken, hunted tribe sheltering in the Great Cursed Realm. From the darkness between the trees, beyond the firelight, he steps silently to meet Takuto and Atou — and upon his shoulders falls a fateful choice: to trust the dark deity risen from the shadows, or to reject him.

Wise, cautious, and long-seasoned, Mortar weighs the fate of his suffering people and resolves to entrust them to Mynoghra. Thus the dark elves become the young shadow realm's first subjects, and the old man himself one of Takuto's closest advisors, sharing his knowledge of this world's magic, fortresses, and iron.

In Mortar lives the bitter wisdom of the persecuted: a people with no place left among the living find protection under a god of ruin — and in that grim alliance discover not destruction but unexpected salvation beneath the shadow.
