Dragontan

Dragontan is a city of dark elves raised under the hand of the multi-ethnic state of Fonkavun for the secret hidden in its depths: here vein-wells gush pure mana. This wondrous land was found by chance while surveying the region, and for its sake a whole city was forcibly built, its research into the precious source pursued in secret.

The city's location, however, leaves it vulnerable: Dragontan lies not far from the Great Cursed Realm where Mynoghra dwells, and set apart from the rest of Fonkavun, making the enclave hard to defend. Barbarian raids threaten it constantly, support from the metropole arrives late, and its fall would open a path to the very heart of the human lands.

Thus Dragontan finds itself at a crossroads of interests: an important but fragile pawn in a greater game, prized for its mana and so drawing the attention of both humans and the growing realm of shadow next door.
