Fan Yu
Description
Fan Yu is the first 'special visitor' of Chen Ge's Haunted House. He has an innate ability to see ghosts and appears to carry deep psychological scars, having witnessed the death of his parents and then lived beside their killer for years.
He is shy and prefers solitude, disliking conversation and rarely leaving home, often shutting himself in his room and fearing strangers. Because he can see spirits, his perception of the world differs from everyone else's. He warms to Chen Ge, believing the two are alike, since specters favor them both.
His family's tragedy was brutal: his father, a teacher at Mu Yang High School, caused a female student's death and then murdered his wife, after which the father's sister — Fan Yu's aunt — killed the father to keep the boy for herself. Fan Yu secretly saw it all. Chen Ge later takes him under his wing as his tutor and guardian.
