Geese Nukadia

Geese Nukadia is the last survivor of the Nuka people. Mastering neither sword nor magic, he nonetheless operated for many years as an adventurer and rose to the rank of S. Early on he strikes up an acquaintance with Rudeus and joins Paul's rescue party.

Geese's greatest secret is revealed only at the very end: all this time he was an apostle of the Hitogami — and so skillfully concealed that across hundreds of loops Orsted never once exposed him.

Geese is a member of the ape-like Nuka people, the last survivor of his kind. In the source he is recognized by his characteristic appearance, manner of speech, and build; he first appears in the story as “the demon in the warehouse.”

Geese is a nimble rogue and a skilled charmer: weak in a fight, he is strong in everything else. He is a master at gathering intelligence — he knows where targets appear, maintains ties with informants, and lays out data meticulously. Outwardly he is courteous and friendly, easily winning people over.

It is precisely this unvarying, utterly unremarkable ordinariness that is his most dangerous trait: behind the mask of a good-natured comrade hides a calculating schemer.

Geese takes part in Paul's expedition into the labyrinth on Begaritt and long passes for a loyal comrade, an intelligence-gatherer, and Talhand's drinking partner. Orsted, who restarted the loop more than a hundred times, was able to identify the Hitogami's hidden apostles — yet Geese alone never aroused suspicion: in every loop he lived as an adventurer and died the same way, never once confessing, even on the brink of death.

The truth comes out when Geese abducts Rudeus's mother, Zenith, to lure him out. It is then that Orsted realizes: Geese is an apostle of the Hitogami, and indeed his last and most deeply hidden trump card. Geese eludes pursuit: a warrant is issued for him across every continent, but he cannot be caught.

In the final war Geese acts on the side of the Hitogami: he brings together Ruijerd (under outside influence), North God III, and the Battle God Badigadi, and himself operates at Badigadi's side, who carries him on his shoulder through the fighting. After the Hitogami's defeat, by his own admission Geese remains the enemy's last bastion.

Geese's weak side is direct combat: he wields neither sword nor magic. But in everything else he is strong — reconnaissance, the gathering and analysis of intelligence, charm, intrigue, and the ability to stay unnoticed. He reached the adventurer rank of S not by strength but by wit.

His most dangerous “weapon” is absolute inconspicuousness: the ability to behave entirely ordinarily, giving nothing away across any of Orsted's hundreds of loops, is what made him an irreplaceable secret apostle of the Hitogami.
