Yeongcheon was once the Sword of Faith of the Wudang Sect, a young talent especially esteemed by the Sword Sovereign himself. But he strayed from the righteous path and stepped onto the Blood Path: wherever he appears, blood follows. The Sword Sovereign hunts him in person. By the middle of the story Yeongcheon becomes lord of the Hyeonhwa Cult and ringleader of a handful of mighty renegades who shake the Central Plains in the name of the Demonic Cult.
As a young talent Yeongcheon showed such promise that he was called the Sword of Faith, and the Sword Sovereign himself singled him out among the Wudang disciples. His fall to the Blood Path broke his master as well: the Sword Sovereign abandoned everything to give chase in person, asking sect leaders to write to him should the boy appear.
Yeongcheon plots to overthrow the righteous sects and gathers around himself equally gifted renegades, each with his own dream. His Hyeonhwa Cult grows by devouring other powers. In the novel Han Seojin read, Jegal Yong's betrayal wipes the Wudang Sect off the face of the earth, Yeongcheon takes his revenge, and in that revenge even the Sword Sovereign dies.
