Merazophis
Description
Merazophis ("Mera") was the trusted valet of the Keren family, lords of a territory in Sariella. Polite, loyal and self-effacing, he secretly loved Sophia's mother but, knowing his station, devoted himself to serving the family instead.
When the Kerens were caught between the Word of God and Goddess religions and baby Sophia was nearly killed by Potimas, she turned him into a vampire so he would survive. As a non-Progenitor vampire he is weakened by sunlight, so he wears a cloak and fights with a claw-gauntlet.
Having inherited his late lord and lady's dying wish, he strives every day to become strong enough to protect Sophia. Serving Demon Lord Ariel, he rose to Commander of the Fourth Demon Army, though he always gives Sophia top priority.
