Description
Maria is the Queen of the Clistin Kingdom, the King's lawful wife. She looks younger than her years and, by her own account, has been friends with Celia — Tenma's adoptive mother — since their student days at the Magic Academy.
She is a woman of strong character: at court she keeps the King in check — it is said "the King is weak before Maria," and she once struck him with her staff in full view of the assembly. Toward Tenma, the son of her old friend and renowned for slaying a dragon, she is warm and protective.
