Nekia

Nekia is the former queen of the spider people and, in a past incarnation, the Hyzen dungeon anomaly — a colossal spider that terrorized the region during the Forest Wave crisis. When that anomaly was undone, her essence split into a white soul and a black soul; the black soul became a separate dungeon anomaly that Nabel destroyed, while the white soul — a glowing white orb — survived carrying a single, impossible wish: to be reborn as a human being, the form her people had always dreamed of. Wof made that wish come true using an empty vessel (Haiyaan's original body, a dark-skinned, purple-eyed beauty) together with a Phoenix resurrection egg, and gave her the name 'Nekia' (derived, in his past-life memory, from Phoenicia). She was overjoyed to become human and to receive a name of her own.

Personality-wise she is childlike, guileless and warmly affectionate, forever chirping her own name and proudly declaring herself a 'queen,' yet quick to tears and easily hurt. Because the very body she now inhabits was once worn by the vicious woman Raada, she is forced into a sheltered, largely hidden life so that Jinryuu remnants who hunt Raada will not mistake her for their enemy; she accepts this unfairness because she trusts Wof and the Witch. She looks almost identical to Megadia — same dark skin and long black hair, only slightly lighter in the eyes and lips — which repeatedly disconcerts Wof.

Despite her isolation, Nekia is determined to make herself useful 'as a queen.' She learned to pilot the airship Etranze from Riv (donning a form-fitting pilot suit) so the group could travel to and from Hyzen, where an unstable gate could never be built, freeing Wof of both logistical trouble and guilt. She is also sharp-witted and knowledgeable: she instantly recognizes the concept of a dungeon as an ancient 'labyrinth,' reminds Wof of his own Relic (the Fortune's Ring) when he despairs, and ferries him to the Forbidden Land aboard Etranze. Housed in the Etranze residential quarter or at the Witch's home, she becomes a quietly steadfast member of Wof's circle, watched over medically by the Witch after her rebirth.
