Yerin

Yerin is Lindon's fiercest companion and the apprentice of the Sage of the Endless Sword, one of Cradle's legendary sword masters. Orphaned young when her family was slaughtered, she was taken in and trained by her master until he too was killed in Sacred Valley, leaving her clinging to his teachings and his memory.

A prodigy of sword madra, Yerin's skin is laced with the thin white scars of the Endless Sword technique, and after inheriting her master's Remnant she gains blade-like goldsigns on her arms. She carries a dangerous secret: a Blood Shadow named Ruby, a fragment of the Dreadgod known as the Bleeding Phoenix, which she both wields and despises for the death it has caused.

Intense, brave and utterly without self-pity, Yerin is a woman of few but honest words, given to dry, vivid turns of phrase. Slow to trust strangers but fiercely loyal once won over, she fears above all losing the people she calls family. Adopted alongside Lindon into the Arelius family by Eithan, she becomes his closest partner as they rise through the ranks together, eventually ascending to the rank of Herald.
