Wharton Baruch

Wharton Baruch is Linley's younger brother, four years his junior but far larger — a burly, muscular man who dwarfs those around him. Unlike Linley's brown hair and eyes, Wharton's are black. He is a rare natural-born Dragonblood Warrior with innately high dragonblood density, able to assume the azure dragon form from birth.

On the day Wharton was born, their mother Lina was kidnapped, and the brothers grew up under their father Hogg and the family's friends. Because of his talent, Wharton was sent as a boy to train at the O'Brien Academy, where he grew into a formidable warrior wielding the heavy warblade 'Slaughterer'. There he fell deeply in love with Nina O'Brien, the Seventh Princess, and — with his brother's help — eventually won the right to marry her.

When Linley founded his realm, Wharton was made king and later the first emperor of the Baruch Empire, ruling for about two decades before passing the throne to his son Cena. Like his father and brother, he loves fiercely and single-mindedly. Over the story's vast timescale he attains godhood and endures the loss of Nina to old age, remaining a steadfast pillar of the Baruch Clan.
