Saint / Saintess

The Saint (or Saintess) is the title given in this world to the single rare wielder of Light magic — a magical lineage so scarce that for centuries the temple has searched without finding a true successor. The Saint is canonically the one who can heal mass casualties, cleanse curses and stabilise threats no ordinary mage can address.

In the original otome game Olivia is revealed to be the Saint, which is what raises her from scholarship commoner to politically critical figure. In Leon's playthrough that identification still holds — and is precisely what makes Olivia a target for the temple-side conspiracies that pop up across the series.

Other polities maintain their own equivalents: the Republic of Alzer's Saintess candidate is bound to the Sacred Tree. The title's political weight is exactly equal to its religious weight, which is to say enormous.
