Reincarnated as the Villain Prince

Sakagami Ryuosuke, a 35-year-old Japanese civil servant from a water-supply bureau, falls asleep reading a web novel about a 'villainess' and is reborn as an infant - the first prince of the Kingdom of Alveria named Varis, retaining all the memories of his past life. In the original story his character is a 'pitiful pretty-boy' prince deceived by political enemies, whose 'villainess' betrothed grows disillusioned with him, after which he is exiled.

Knowing this, Varis deliberately forges a different fate. Drawing on knowledge of sanitation, infrastructure, epidemiology and education, he carries out reforms, wins the heart of the 'villainess' Reina meant for him, and gradually gathers a harmonious harem - alongside the 'saint' Miria and the mysterious Feril. Along the way he saves the kingdom from epidemics, famine and outside threats.

The plot unfolds as a romantic-comedy harem war chronicle: the secrets of the World Tree and the spirit Amon come to light, war erupts with the demon-god Biblos in Bertea, and in the finale the slumbering power of the vengeance demon-god Morrigan surfaces within Reina. Varis restores the lost battle magic of an ancient hero, saves Reina from the Ancient Dungeon and ascends the throne as the 'wise king.'
