Leon Fou Bartfort

Leon Fou Bartfort is the narrator and protagonist of "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs." In his previous life he was a Japanese office worker whose older sister forced him to clear the otome game on her behalf; he died exhausted and woke up reborn as the unwanted third son of Baron Bartfort, a poor border house in the matriarchal Holfart Kingdom.

Plain-featured and proudly average, Leon is allergic to nobility, pageantry, and anything that smells like the otome-game script he once suffered through. He is sharp-tongued, scheming, and genuinely lazy — his stated life goal is a quiet retirement raising sheep on his own piece of country. He despises Holfart's matriarchal customs that humiliate commoner men and the entitled boys who form the Crown Prince's clique.

Stumbling onto an Old Humanity dungeon, he activates the AI Luxion and becomes its registered Master, gaining access to a buried fleet of warships and combat Armors. Using game foreknowledge and Luxion's hardware he derails the otome-game routes one by one: he protects Olivia from noble bullies, intervenes when Crown Prince Julius publicly breaks Angelica's engagement, and crushes the five capture targets in a televised duel from the cockpit of the Armor he later names Arroganz.

Despite every effort to disappear, Leon keeps being promoted: knight, viscount, count, finally Marquess Bartfort with a domain of his own. He ends the series surrounded by Angelica, Olivia, Marie and the rest of an unintentionally assembled family, still loudly insisting that he is just a mob who got caught in a bad game.
