Isla

Isla is the second of the great hero-rulers available to Mynoghra, the 'Queen of All Insects.' Where Atou resembles Takuto himself in laziness and soft indifference, Isla is her opposite: earnest, meticulous, businesslike. She takes on the whole internal governance of the evil state — development plans, budgets, army logistics — handling an impossible workload so well that she eases the burden even on other officials.

Despite her title and appearance, an almost maternal tenderness hides behind her strictness: subjects like the secretary Emuru are drawn to her, finding in her an echo of a mother's warmth. Isla is also the only one who dares discipline the lord himself: where Atou spoils Takuto without limit, Isla instructs him, demanding the bearing of a true king.

As queen of insects she commands the swarming hordes of Mynoghra's creatures — the primal, hideous, yet unstoppable might that forms the backbone of the shadow realm's army. In her, the sternness of an administrator, the warmth of a mother, and the horror of a monster-mistress of countless vermin all meet.
