Lindon Arelius

Wei Shi Lindon is the protagonist of Cradle. Born into the Shi Family of the Wei Clan in the isolated Sacred Valley, he was branded "Unsouled" because his madra was pure and unaspected rather than fitting any recognized Path, marking him as the shame of his clan. Scorned by nearly everyone but his own mother, father and sister, he scraped together scraps of knowledge and technique just to survive.

When the Abidan Phoenix, Suriel, showed him a vision of a catastrophe that would one day befall Sacred Valley, Lindon resolved to leave home and grow strong enough to save his family. Guided into the wider world by the mysterious Eithan Arelius, he is adopted into House Arelius, learns the destructive Path of Black Flame from the sacred turtle Orthos, and forges his own Path of Twin Stars, blending pure and Blackflame madra.

Tall and broad-shouldered with a naturally "mean" face, black hair and (originally) dark brown eyes that burn red when he cycles Blackflame, Lindon is defined by relentless ambition, patience and a scholar's hunger for knowledge. Endlessly hard-working and willing to do whatever it takes, he climbs the advancement ranks at a staggering pace, bonded to the mind-spirit Dross and the nature-spirit Little Blue, always driven by his promise to protect those he loves.
