Akura Malice is the Matriarch of the great Akura clan and one of the seven Monarchs of Cradle — the highest rank a sacred artist can attain. From her seat at Moongrave she rules more than half of the Ashwind continent, including the Blackflame Empire and many lesser kingdoms and sects.
A being of shadow madra roughly five centuries old, Malice does not age; she appears young and beautiful, cold, calculating and utterly formidable. She rules with her strongest kin at her back — her son the Herald Akura Fury and his daughter the Sage Akura Charity — beneath the clan's three-star emblem.
Ruthless and pragmatic in defense of her family's dominion, Malice is the distant power who long ago forbade entry to Sacred Valley and its buried Labyrinth. She is Mercy's mother, and her ambitions and secrets loom over the wider conflicts of the series, making her both a potential patron and a dangerous force to be reckoned with.
