Advancement Ranks

Advancement — the ladder of ranks — measures a sacred artist's spiritual development on Cradle. Because the planet is so vast that its gravity would crush an ordinary body, advancement is a survival skill: cultivating madra by cycling vital aura strengthens the body enough to endure Cradle's pressures and dangers, with Iron generally considered the minimum needed to survive for long.

The lower ranks climb from Foundation to Copper, then Iron and Jade, followed by the three grades of Gold — Lowgold, Highgold and Truegold. Above these lies the Lord realm, entered by kindling soulfire: Underlord, then Overlord, then Archlord, each a dramatic leap in power, authority and lifespan.

Beyond Archlord lie the pinnacle ranks. A Sage learns to command an Icon and impose their will on the world's underlying rules; a Herald masters their own body and Remnant to wield overwhelming physical might. At the very summit stand the Monarchs — near-immortal rulers whose power reshapes the world, and of whom only a handful exist on all of Cradle.
