Great Magus Serholm

Great Magus Serholm belongs to the highest tiers of the world of the Magi — that force before which, as Georg taught, even the Great Knights are no more than servants. It was thanks to Serholm's efforts that the academy was founded which became for Leylin the first step on the path toward magic — a place where young talents pass a strict selection, gain access to basic knowledge, and confront for the first time the laws of magical society. For Leylin, the figure of Serholm carries a twofold significance. On the one hand, he is a distant patron whose provisions determine the very way of life within the academy and the rules by which the students rise to the rank of official Magus. On the other, he is a tangible reminder of the summit that Leylin himself sets out to reach: calculating and pragmatic, he uses the resources and opportunities left behind by Serholm and masters like him as stepping stones for his own ascent, harboring no illusions about the benevolence of such powerful entities.
