Amid shouts of "White Devil! The White Devil is here!" panic, like a contagion, spread directly through the entire small town.
The many townspeople had no more of their earlier clamor; they could only hide in their respective rooms, trembling.
"It seems the Belinda clan's reputation here really isn't all that great!"
Lei Lin looked with some speechlessness at the town plunged into panic, shaking his head, though he felt no surprise.
These otherworldly residents, in his view, were on average only slightly stronger than ordinary humans, while Belinda's clan was a Tier Five Devil White Phosphorus Serpent. The severe imbalance of strength led to an absolute imbalance of status. Under such circumstances, if they *had* treated the townspeople well, that would have actually surprised Lei Lin.
"Tell me! Where is the White River Beach Valley?"
The crimson light in Lei Lin's eyes flared as he looked at the trembling farmer and farmwife before him.
"R-Respected sir, there is no valley or similar terrain nearby!" Finally, it was the farmer who spoke, his voice shaking.
"Oh? That's right! How could you possibly find that place?"
Lei Lin understood a bit now. Although the Devil White Phosphorus Serpent clan's residence was nearby, it was shielded from ordinary people. With their means, accomplishing something like that would be incredibly simple.
"According to the positioning, the target is in this general area, but there's some interference, so the precise location cannot be determined!"
Lei Lin stroked his chin. At the fundamental residence of such a powerful clan, there would definitely be numerous powerful formations, as well as abilities to block detection and such.
Even the unconscious radiation accumulation from those powerhouses might be enough to cause changes in the local terrain.
Only these humanoid beings with scales on their foreheads, for some unknown reason, possessed a resistance to high-energy radiation that even exceeded that of many low-level Wizards. That was how they could survive and multiply here.
Or perhaps, the White Devil clan had simply relocated them here, to serve as objects for exploitation and oppression.
"However, as long as it's nearby, I'll definitely find it!"
Under the awestruck gaze of the farmer, Lei Lin's body rose directly into the air. In the blink of an eye, he was above the small town.
The Half-Moon Tier Five True Spirit power swept across the area in an instant.
Every resident of the town, every feature of the terrain, even the insects and other minute life within the smallest crevices, appeared before Lei Lin without anything being hidden.
With the expansion of his True Spirit power, this range even showed a trend of growing wider.
"The peak and ultimate extent of personal power! This feeling of comprehending everything under one's dominion! It is truly intoxicating!"
Like a divine perspective, it gave Lei Lin perfect knowledge of everything within range. He could even, with a single thought, take the lives of everyone in the entire town. This authority was somewhat intoxicating to him.
"Only this kind of power is the guarantee for pursuing eternity!" Powerless eternity was nothing but endless torment and suffering; only freedom and eternity completely under one's control was Lei Lin's lifelong pursuit.
"Hmm! Found it!" A flash of light, and Lei Lin descended, looking at Sophia, who was clearly somewhat uneasy.
"Sophia! We're going to pick up your sister, but if you run into any danger, find somewhere to hide on your own — don't worry about me. Got it?"
"Mm! I'll listen to Big Brother!" Sophia nodded obediently.
The moment Lei Lin and Sophia set off, a dark silhouette emerged directly from the shadows of the small town, morphing into Lei Lin's original appearance. It then pulled on a large black cloak and vanished into the morning light.
This time, since certain unsavory methods would be necessary, Lei Lin once again employed the same approach as before.
The Chip controlled the shadow puppet to move about with Sophia, while his true body operated covertly in the background.
Having Sophia with him as proof of presence should keep Belinda from growing suspicious — especially since... a sharp glint flashed through Lei Lin's eyes...
......
"Hmm! There are so few of them... I'd assumed Belinda's clan would be quite large, but it turns out there are only a few dozen clan members — and nearly half of those are mixed-blood or still immature in their bloodline..."
After passing through a stretch of Nightmare Fog beside the town, a small white valley appeared before Lei Lin.
Surrounding the valley were numerous serpentine paths, and a terrifying dreamforce radiated outward from within. Deeper inside, clusters of densely packed buildings could be seen.
This was clearly the location of Belinda's clan.
Though their numbers were small, the valley was filled with commotion — the hissing and roaring of great serpents echoed through the air at regular intervals.
