Looking at the Chip's calculated conclusions, Leilin's expression flickered uncertainly.
"So you're saying, if I were to encounter the Flame Throne right now, my chances of successfully escaping are only fifteen percent? And there's nearly a fifty percent chance of direct annihilation..."
This conclusion made Leilin narrow his eyes.
Although having over a ten percent chance of escaping a Radiant Sun
If today his true body were to encounter the Flame Throne, was he really supposed to gamble on that thirty-nine percent unknown probability?
This outcome could potentially turn out well, but it could also develop into something far more tragic than mere severe injury or death. Leilin didn't dare gamble with his own luck.
"Is the Flame Throne really that powerful? Or are all Radiant Sun Wizards this strong?"
Leilin stroked his chin, a premonition stirring within him — among Radiant Sun Wizards, whether one had begun to touch upon the power of Laws might represent an enormous threshold!
"No matter what, the most important thing right now is to increase my own strength!"
Leilin flipped his palm, and a fragmented crimson jade stone materialized before him, arcane ripples undulating around it.
This was the Fire Phoenix Egg, enormously beneficial to the soul. Leilin had previously used it to push his soul to the pinnacle of the Morning Star realm.
After that, he could no longer draw out the soul power within — his True Spirit had reached its limit and could not accept any more. But now, having advanced to the rank of Radiant Moon Warlock, it was as though the capacity of a vessel had been expanded, and absorbing soul power was once again possible.
Moreover, it would serve as an excellent remedy for the soul injuries caused by his clone's recent destruction.
"Come to think of it, the Lava World is already under
Leilin stroked his chin.
The assistance such a World Artifact could provide was simply too great. Even though Melinda and Wade had surely already stripped away every easily obtainable fragment of the Fire Phoenix Egg, Leilin still very much wanted to give it a try.
"Still, this current fragment alone should be enough to sustain me for quite some time..."
Behind Leilin, the phantom image of the Komoan Serpent Emperor materialized — shrunk countless times its original size — while a wisp of eerie black flame emerged from his fingertip, slithering like a small black serpent onto the scorching fire jade.
As the Fire Feather Technique's burning and devouring took hold, wisps of absolutely pure soul energy flowed from the Fire Phoenix Egg like a clear spring.
Leilin's mind shuddered as the True Spirit within the singularity radiated feelings of joy and elation. The slight dimming caused by the previous clone's demise quickly faded, and his entire soul began to blaze with brilliant light.
Soul Power as clear as the moon rippled outward, continuously filling the full moon and rapidly transforming toward the Half Moon realm.
"Terrifying exotic treasure! Exceptional Soul Power!"
Leilin sighed, glancing at the Chip's records on the other side: [Ding! Detection — the host has absorbed a large amount of Fire Phoenix Egg essence. Soul Power rising! Spiritual Power breakthrough in progress!]
[Ding! Host's Soul Power data has changed. Recalculating!] Accompanied by the Chip's alerts, Leilin was stunned to discover that the Spiritual Power and Soul Power figures in his status panel were climbing at a rapid pace.
The data representing Soul Power surged like a rocket, instantly breaking past 140, 150, and reaching 161!
The True Spirit's full moon blazed with brilliant radiance, nearly reaching the Half Moon level.
The abundant Soul Power stimulation caused his Spiritual Power to rise as well, even beginning to place a burden on Leilin's body.
Sensing something amiss, Leilin immediately cut off the extraction from the Fire Phoenix Egg, but by then his data had already undergone tremendous changes.
After the Chip finished recalculating, Leilin's stats had astonishingly become: [Leilin·Fairhair — Warlock, Rank 5 Bloodline: Komoan Serpent Emperor (Complete Form) — Strength: 76, Agility: 62, Constitution: 138.9, Spirit: , Mana: 1613 (Mana determined by Spiritual Power), Soul Power: 161 (Crescent Moon)] "Nearly three hundred points of Spiritual Power in one go? And thirty points of Soul Power?"
Leilin stared at the Fire Phoenix Egg in his hand, now a size smaller. A contemplative expression crept onto his face.
"If I fully digest the rest of this Fire Phoenix Egg, my True Spirit could instantly break through to the Half Moon realm and reach the peak of Full Moon! What a pity…"
A bitter smile appeared at the corners of Leilin's mouth — such terrifying amplification brought an equally enormous burden to his body.
Moreover, the Fire Phoenix Egg was nothing like the Komoan Serpent Emperor's bloodline. The latter emphasized gradual, holistic development across all attributes, while the Fire Phoenix Egg focused solely on boosting Soul Power.
This kind of lopsided growth naturally caused Leilin considerable trouble, and was the very reason he couldn't immediately digest the entire Fire Phoenix Egg.
"The new Constitution growth plan has to be moved up. Fortunately, the Komoan Serpent Emperor's bloodline enhancement hasn't finished yet — there's still room for my Constitution to rise…"
Using the power of bloodline to drive Constitution growth was a highly worthwhile deal for a Warlock.
"Besides, I have a feeling that if I use the Komoan Serpent Emperor's Devouring talent to absorb the Fire Phoenix Egg, the effect might be even better…"
A sharp glint flashed through
For an ordinary Wizard, finding a single way to utilize a Wonder would be cause for celebration. But for Leylin, doing so would be a tremendous waste.
World-class Wonders could not possibly be obtained through normal means, so every last bit of them had to be put to good use.
「Ding! Simulation experiment complete! Efficiency of the Fire Feather Technique in absorbing the Phoenix Egg: 87.8%. Efficiency of the Devouring Talent in absorbing the Phoenix Egg: 92.6%! There is a certain probability of inheriting some of the ancient Fire Phoenix's bloodline abilities!」
The Chip quickly delivered its conclusion.
"Inherit bloodline abilities? A certain probability?" Leylin shook his head. Even the Chip was being this vague, which meant not only was it extremely troublesome, but it also depended on sheer luck.
As for his own fortune, Leylin had never harbored high expectations. It wasn't that his luck was bad — in reality, his luck was about the same as any ordinary person's, sometimes good and sometimes bad. It was just that he never placed his hopes on such lottery-like gambles.
For him, since the Devouring Talent offered higher efficiency for absorbing soul energy, that was naturally the method he would use going forward.
As for the other aspects, there was no point setting expectations too high. That way, if the outcome didn't turn out well, he wouldn't have burned too much mental energy on it.
"It seems that with the power of my bloodline and the Phoenix Crystal, I might be able to quickly complete the soul accumulation required for the Radiant Moon level and lay a solid foundation for advancing to the Dawn Wizard…"
A faint surge of excitement rose in Leylin's heart.
The sixth level! The Throne! In the Central Continent, a sixth-level Wizard stood at the absolute pinnacle among all Wizards! An Emperor! One who could even influence the historical trajectory of the entire continent.
To put it bluntly, once he advanced to the sixth level, Leylin would have truly seized control of his own destiny in the Wizard World.
But standing in the way of that advance to the sixth level was an enormous obstacle.
The Bloodline Shackles! The Komoan Serpent genes within Leylin's body could evolve to the Komoan Serpent Emperor at most — that was the absolute limit! Even the Chip had detected that his bloodline genes had already hit their ceiling and could not be raised any further.
The Chip and all the extensive calculations before had only managed to delay the onset of the Bloodline Shackles, suppressing them from the Morning Star level to the Radiant Moon level.
Yet the mountain of the Bloodline Shackles still loomed over Leylin's heart.
And compared to the Bloodline Shackles, the attention of the Mother of Serpents was what truly unsettled Leylin even more.
He had always been on high guard against an existence from the ancient myths and legends.
The degree of control she wielded over the entire Shadow Serpent race was clearly something Leylin could not even hope to match at his current level. The fact that raising his bloodline to the fifth level had already drawn her attention was, for Leylin, anything but good news.
Leylin had never liked entrusting his safety to the mercy of those above him. That was the most pitiful approach. If one had no power, it was fine to bide one's time for the moment. But once a person had been given a chance to change their fate and still acted that way, they were a fool!
"The Bloodline Shackles! And the Mother of Serpents! Perhaps these two problems are fundamentally one and the same problem!"
Light flickered in Leylin's eyes as numerous plans were proposed, quickly rejected, and rapidly used to simulate a multitude of future scenarios.
"Hum hum!" Just then, Leylin's mystic imprint began to glow, displaying a communication request.
It was a rather comical clown-face imprint, positioned very far back — clearly one that had been added only recently.
Leylin thought for a moment, then opened the imprint. "Melinda, you're able to transmit information directly into Morning Star space? You still owe me an explanation for what happened before!"
The owner of this clown imprint was none other than Melinda. Back then, Leylin had been ambushed by the Flame Throne's clone almost immediately after parting ways with her — it had been far too coincidental.
But looking back on it now, Leylin had a feeling things probably weren't that simple.
Regardless, this witch called Melinda always seemed to be shrouded in a layer of fog, which made Leylin rather uninterested in getting too close to her.
He had a premonition that if he ever placed his trust in Melinda, his fate would likely be the same as Jesiah's — used up and then ruthlessly discarded.
"If… I told you that I deliberately lured the Flame Throne's clone over because I wanted to see what you were capable of, what would you do?"
The imprint on the other end seemed to fall silent for a long time before Melinda's voice finally came through.
