Wizards grasp the laws of reality through knowledge, using their Spiritual Power as a lever to manipulate elemental particles into the various spells that form the bedrock of their path.
Furthermore, as they learn about the rules and power systems of other worlds, they incorporate elements of those systems into their own sorcery, creating the brilliance of the ancient era.
From the scorpion-man's memories, Leylin knew that the creatures of this Frost World excelled in physique and raw strength, and the Alvin facing him evidently inherited those traits.
Though Leylin was a Bloodline Warlock, he still seemed somewhat lacking when compared to a true ancient being.
Therefore, the proper course for a Wizard was to drag his opponent into a domain where he held the advantage.
In Leylin's past life's terms, it meant using one's own strengths to attack the enemy's weaknesses!
By creating distance and then using his domain to impose restrictions, the terrifying speed and power of Alvin, along with the stabbing thrusts of his tail stinger, were reduced to an absolute minimum.
Meanwhile, Leylin could constantly whittle down his foe with a multitude of spells, achieving maximum results at the minimum cost - this, too, was the power of wisdom!
"I've already witnessed the Morning Stars of the Frost World. Now, it's your turn to experience the terror of a Bloodline Warlock..."
A colossal phantom of the Grandmist Serpent materialized behind Leylin. Two eyes, like blazing stars, fired forth petrifying rays. The massive serpent body coiled, sweeping Alvin up within its embrace...
BOOM!
A tremendous roar, accompanied by terrifying ripples of energy, continuously radiated from mid-air, instantly bringing devastation to the Ice and Snow Tribe.
The horrifying wave of energy obliterated the entire settlement in moments, plunging the whole area into a scene resembling the end of days.
The Ice and Snow Tribe, already dazed for a moment after their leader's death, now all screamed, fleeing from the settlement in hopes of escaping the area.
It was no exaggeration to say that the place had been completely destroyed.
Explosions rang out one after another. The clash between the two Morning Stars even affected the void, shattering vast quantities of spatial fragments.
"What is going on? How can this infiltrating Morning Star be so powerful?"
Alvin grew increasingly astonished. He possessed bloodline inheritance and had been guided by mysterious entities, considering himself a powerhouse among Morning Stars.
But the unfamiliar Morning Star the Empress had ordered him to capture was even stronger. That endless torrent of spells and strange bloodline abilities were giving him immense trouble.
Bang! The void shattered, and Alvin and Lei Lin tumbled into the rift between worlds.
"Capturing you is Her Majesty's mission for me!" Alvin stared at Lei Lin ahead, his face settling into steely resolve.
Streams of dark green energy erupted across his body, forming eerie patterns that spread over every inch of Alvin's frame.
Pop, pop!! The skin across his back split open, and a massive silhouette surged out from behind him.
It was a colossal scorpion as vast as a mountain range, its entire body a deep jade green, with the unmistakable face of a woman adorning its back.
Alvin's former human body now hung in the void like a discarded husk, drifting aimlessly through the emptiness.
"Ice Jade Scorpion!" Lei Lin blurted out in shock. Alvin's true form was actually a titanic Ice Jade Scorpion! At this size, it had surely surpassed even the Ice Jade Scorpion Emperor and beings of that caliber.
"Ssss-ssss!"
The enormous scorpion let out a ferocious screech, its massive pincers swinging down like falling meteors, carrying terrifying momentum as they slammed toward Lei Lin.
The sheer force of the blow made the void itself tremble.
"Heh heh... I truly seem to have some fated connection with your Ice Jade Scorpion clan! Besides, the breath of an Ice Jade Scorpion at the Morning Star level would undoubtedly be tremendously effective for treating my bloodline illness. I'll have to revise my plan..."
A gleam of light flickered through Lei Lin's eyes.
Although his combat strength rivaled that of a Fifth-level Great Wizard at the Crescent rank, and he had even slain a Brilliant Moon Wizard, all of that had been accomplished through the power of the Son of the Sun's bloodline mark.
As for his true capability, while he could indeed subdue a five-star Morning Star, it would require an extended drawn-out battle, and there was a very real chance the opponent might escape.
Now that Alvin had revealed his Ice Jade Scorpion true form, Lei Lin's desire to capture him alive only grew stronger.
If he used the bloodline mark to unleash "Scorching Sun Annihilation," then Alvin would be reduced to nothing but ash and bone. Lei Lin was counting on obtaining his opponent's breath to attempt a cure for the emotional instability disease afflicting Morning Star warlocks.
"Alvin! I acknowledge that you are of use! You have value in existing and won't be casually eradicated!"
Lei Lin spoke calmly, and four blood-red halos blazed into existence behind him, merging together to form a terrifying Wizard Art!
"First-level bloodline talent — Komoin Scales, Petrifying Gaze! Second-level innate Wizard Art — Toxic Gall! Third-level innate Wizard Art — Terror Suppression! Fourth-level innate Wizard Art — Bloodline Transformation! Combining into the ancient Morning Star killing technique — Komoin Serpent Transformation!!!"
