Chapter 525: Scarlet Relics

January 17, 2020 · 4 min read · 855 words

The sea clan were not human. Living in the ocean, they naturally possessed appearances that fully conformed to the laws of nature.

As for those sea clan members seen on land who resembled humans — perhaps with a few scales scattered across their bodies — those were merely forms they adopted specifically for communicating with humans. The monster standing before Leilin, thousands of meters in size, was the true form of the sea clan.

After revealing its true form, the terrifying fluctuations emanating from Sebel surged wildly, as if going off the charts.

A flicker of excitement crossed Leilin's face. "Chip! Begin calculating the trajectory!"

Streams of blue light poured from Leilin's eyes as the Chip's computational power was ramped up beyond half capacity.

"Commencing simulation model of target. Trajectory calculation in progress!"

"ROOOAR…"

The sea clan entity ahead roared furiously. Vast quantities of seawater, infused with the soul power of a Dawn Star wizard, continuously condensed before the monster, ultimately forming a sphere less than a centimeter in diameter — yet it radiated a blue light that surpassed everything. In the blink of an eye, it arrived before Leilin.

"Right on time!" Leilin laughed aloud. Massive and terrifying bloodline power, along with soul power, converged in his hand. Overwhelming fluctuations radiated outward before colliding violently with the blue energy sphere.

Hum! Hum! The void trembled, yet no violent explosion or spatial rift appeared, leaving the sea clan wizard across from him bewildered, its actions momentarily frozen.

Whoosh! In that instant, the blue energy sphere was enveloped in blood-red radiance, slicing across the sky like a meteor and hurtling toward a specific location.

There, a five-colored rainbow arc suddenly pierced through the entire starry sky.

"The… the Ocle Arc!" came the incredulous voice of the sea clan wizard opposite.

It raised its head abruptly and beheld a wondrous sight.

Though it was night, a massive sun suddenly materialized, merging with the moon and the brightest morning star.

Brilliant yet not blinding radiance cascaded downward, forming a thin line that descended to this very spot.

Rumble! The void shifted and heaved. Faintly, another massive expanse of space suddenly "squeezed" its way out, and the spatial force fields of both sides began to overlap.

"Success!" Leilin rejoiced inwardly.

Using the Chip's terrifying computational power, he had merged the opponent's force with his own, forcibly accelerating the timing of the Scarlet Arc Moon's emergence!

This had not been his original plan — it was a scheme born on the spur of the moment after seeing the opponent's Dawn Star — but the benefits were considerable.

The relics appearing ahead of schedule meant that even if some hidden manipulators had calculated the precise timing, their plans would now be thrown into disarray.

And the more chaotic things became, the better for Leilin.

"This… this… this is… the Scarlet Arc Moon Relics!"

The enormous sea clan creature opposite widened its eyes, muttering in disbelief.

Though it knew the relics could appear at any of the thirteen bases, the fact that they happened to fall right here was far too coincidental.

As the phantom gradually solidified and formed a spatial passageway emanating a dark silver glow, Sebel's face flickered with hesitation. But he chose to contact the other wizards — and more importantly, had to notify their commander, that Radiant Moon wizard.

But the moment his soul power touched the communication device, Sebel froze in sudden realization!

Their leader, that fifth-rank Radiant Moon wizard, was still inside the world rift! There was no way to receive any short-message communications in a place like that. Even his several colleagues were currently being held up by the opponent's Dawn Star sorcerers, and the situation didn't look favorable — where was he supposed to find anyone?

Watching the other party's hesitant expression, Leilin chuckled softly, having no further desire to drag things out with him.

Even if he was confident he could kill the opponent, doing so would necessarily require unleashing his Dawn Star killing technique and consuming a great deal of time — absolutely unacceptable at this moment.

Therefore, as if lifting a curtain, Leilin's hands pried open the spatial rift and he stepped inside without hesitation.

Only after Leilin had vanished into the spatial rift did Sebel grit his teeth and transmit a few messages through the communication imprint, immediately following after him as the spatial ripples swallowed him whole.

For Dawn Star wizards, their bodies could even traverse spatial turbulence. A spatial passage like this one — similar to secret realm teleportation — could be forced through by sheer power alone, even without a dedicated teleportation array.

"What? The relics appeared? Already?"

At several other bases, the wizards on both sides of the battle received the news almost simultaneously. Caught completely off guard by this unexpected intelligence, they merely faced off for a moment before immediately heading toward the location.

And at that moment, inside the world rift beyond.

Endless stars and swirling nebulae served as the backdrop of the world rift, imbuing it with a vast and majestic grandeur.

Here, battles of mythical, ancient proportions were being waged without cease.
