Leilin had already been enraged by the previous ambush.
And Leo was the patriarch of the Oakheart Family. If he could kill the man here, it would undoubtedly deal a heavy blow to the Blue Mountain King as well.
His earlier back-and-forth with Leo and the chase hadn't been for play—it had been to give the Chip time to collect data and build predictive models.
By now, all the data had been collected. Numerous scenarios had been run through the Chip, repeatedly pruned, leaving only those with the highest feasibility.
"Modeling complete. Simulated combat win rate: 67.9%!" the Chip reported faithfully.
"Commencing assist mode!" Leilin's voice carried an unmistakable edge of killing intent.
"Target One is beginning to condense energy particles. Identified as a Third-level Spell—Aurora Burst! Recommend immediate evasion 3.7 meters to the right!"
On the simulated map, as the Chip ran its calculations, Leo—the designated Target One—seized the opportunity to activate a string of multicolored gemstone necklace. A torrent of aurora light instantly swallowed the area where Leilin stood.
Leilin immediately dodged to the right. At that very moment, the enemy also made their move.
"Aurora Burst!" Leo activated a high-grade Magical Item in his hand. A five-colored torrent instantly submerged the rock where Leilin had been standing moments before, leaving behind only a massive crater.
"Target Three has activated transformation mode! Estimated to be a descendant of the Bannu people—Polar Terror Bear transformation bloodline activated!"
"ROAAR..." The moment the Chip's voice fell, Sihao, who had been standing beside Leo, let out a tremendous roar, tearing off his clothes and transforming into a massive bear covered in stiff white fur.
Circlets of crystalline icicles hung from the bear's fur, radiating vast amounts of cold energy that formed wisps of white mist around it.
"Kill!"
Leilin's eyes glowed with blue light as his entire body danced with nimble steps beneath the enormous white bear paws, managing to dodge the majority of the attacks and arrive directly in front of the white Terror Bear.
The Cross Sword traced a graceful arc, sweeping across the surface of the Polar Terror Bear's body.
"Pfft!" The white fur was sliced open, revealing vivid red muscle fibers and the faint outline of internal organs underneath. A massive gush of blood erupted outward.
The enormous white Terror Bear let out what seemed like a roar of disbelief, its voice growing fainter and fainter until it faded completely.
BOOM!!!
The bear's corpse, massive as a small hill, crashed to the ground, sending up clouds of dust. The white bear's fur receded, and it reverted back to the wizard who had been among those besieging Leilin earlier.
"Target Four!" Targets One and Two cried out in alarm at the sight of Target Four's body on the ground.
They knew full well how powerful Target Four was. After transforming, the bear form could go head-to-head with a Third-level Spell without falling behind. How could it have died so quickly?
Target One's gaze shifted to the pitch-black Cross Sword in Leilin's hand, and his pupils contracted involuntarily.
"Beware of his sword! There's something strange about it!"
The Cross Sword had always been a high-grade Magical Item. After Leilin's repeated optimizations, its material composition could rival that of a magical artifact. Combined with the power drawn from the Gall of Deadly Poison, the Cross Sword was now capable of posing a genuine threat to a Crystallized Wizard!
And when it came to facing a brute like the Polar Terror Bear—all raw strength and no brains—it was exactly the kind of fight Leilin relished most.
"Hokadas Beast!"
On the other side, after witnessing Leilin's explosive display, Leo's face alternated between red and white before he finally called out his trump card.
"ROAAR!!!"
A monster with the upper body of a wolf and the lower body of an octopus squeezed itself out of the void, landing before Leilin. Countless tentacles tipped with white suckers bloomed outward like radiant flowers.
"Useless!" Leilin's voice was low and steady. His figure flickered repeatedly as he dodged the encirclement of tentacles, arriving right in front of the Hokadas Beast.
"Multi-arm Power!" A massive multi-armed figure materialized behind Leilin, its enormous strength flooding continuously into his body.
"Engaged! Multi-arm Power activated—temporary augmentation of host's physical strength in progress!" The Chip's notification sounded repeatedly.
"HA!" Leilin gripped the sword with both hands and brought it crashing down toward the Hokadas Beast's head!
CRACK! Like shattering glass, hairline fractures spread across the Hokadas Beast's body before chunks of flesh began sloughing off.
BOOM! In the end, the entire colossal body disintegrated piece by piece, crumbling into dust.
"Damn it... how... how can he be this strong?!"
After shattering the Hokadas Beast, Leilin turned to look at Leo. The killing intent in his eyes immediately sent a chill up Leo's spine.
"Next, it's your turn!"
Faintly, Leo seemed to read the meaning from Leilin's lip movements, along with the mocking look in his eyes.
This unprecedented experience dealt a devastating blow to his pride.
"Targets One and Two, with me!" Leo roared suddenly.
"Storm Barrier!"
A pale cyan whirlwind erupted instantaneously from a short black staff in his hand.
The mass of whirlwinds immediately formed a terrifying barrier. Wind blades swept forward in a torrent toward Leilin.
"Water Elemental Tribute!" Targets One and Two nodded in unison and struck together.
