After Leilin left, the fog in the area gradually dispersed, revealing a gray-white wizard statue.
The statue was identical to the Bill from earlier, except its face still wore an expression of utter horror!
Crack! Crack!
Countless fine fractures spread across the surface of the statue like a spider's web.
Boom!
Then, with a thunderous crash, the statue shattered into countless fragments…
Leilin was now at the peak of a First-level Wizard, and with the bonus of his bloodline power, even a ordinary peak First-level Wizard like Bill would be no match for him at full strength.
However, he had no interest in such thoughts at the moment. His eyes had been instantly drawn to what lay before him.
This storeroom was quite small — only around a dozen square meters.
Leilin swept his gaze across the entire room in a single glance. There were very few wooden racks for storing resources here. In the very center sat an unusual runic stone platform.
On the surface of the platform, three items lay in isolation. Though they all looked rather unassuming, anything kept here with such reverence was certainly no ordinary thing.
Leilin examined the items on the platform carefully.
On the far left was something resembling a cowhide pouch, entirely black, adorned with delicate silver patterns. Though it appeared perfectly ordinary, a faint yet distinct and peculiar resonance emanated from it — so much so that even the Kemoyin Giant Serpent bloodline within Leilin's body stirred with a strange awareness.
"This feeling… It seems this pouch must have been crafted from the hide of some ancient creature…"
Leilin rubbed his chin, his mind racing. "Made from ancient creature hide, doesn't appear to be an offensive Magical Item… Could it be…"
In an instant, a faint possibility flashed through his mind, making his breathing grow heavier.
"Chip! Scan the patterns on the pouch and cross-reference with the Ancient Creature Database!"
*Ding! Task established. Scan initiating…*
*Comparison results: Ancient Creature — Void White-eye Serpent hide similarity: 92.6%. Tailless Ring-bearing Serpent hide similarity: 46.9%. Void Crow hide similarity: 12.3%…*
"So it is the Void White-eye Serpent!" Leilin's face broke into a grin.
This ancient creature had been an exceedingly rare species even in the primordial age. Its innate ability was related to space itself — and precisely because of that, its hide was frequently used to craft storage-type items.
"Chip! Pull up all data on the Void White-eye Serpent!" Leilin commanded immediately.
"Void White-eye Serpent! An ancient creature, favored of the void. Upon reaching maturity, it awakens spatial abilities, mastering powerful innate talents such as spatial traversal! Its hide, imbued with natural void runes, is commonly processed into storage tools capable of holding objects thousands or even tens of thousands of times its own volume. However, due to overhunting by ancient wizards, it was declared fully extinct by the mid-era of antiquity… Data source: Ancient Creature Compendium, Wizard World History, 37th Edition!"
"So it really is — a legendary spatial-type Magical Item!"
Leilin stared intently at the black pouch on the platform, his eyes blazing with fervor.
For a major power like the Four Seasons Garden, this might be nothing more than a nice-to-have luxury. But for a wizard accustomed to traveling alone, the implications were enormous!
If he had possessed this pouch back during the raid, Leilin would never have left the contents of the secondary storeroom for other dark wizards. He would have swallowed every last piece for himself.
And now, especially for someone like Leilin — perpetually prepared to flee at a moment's notice — owning this would significantly boost his mobility and flexibility.
Truly, if forced to choose only one thing from this entire vault, Leilin would pick this without a shred of hesitation.
Yet, the more critical the moment, the better Leilin was at reining in his desires.
He forced down the immediate impulse to act and turned his attention to the other two items beside the black pouch.
In the very center of the platform sat a thick, black tome as bulky as a dictionary, its corners showing obvious signs of wear and damage.
"This must be a book the Four Seasons Garden obtained from the Ganges Secret Realm. Left behind by the wizard who built the realm, which makes it even more precious…"
Such things were only useful to major factions. For a lone wolf like Leilin, acquiring it would only invite disaster.
To the right of the black tome was a coal-like object resembling a chunk of dark honeycomb. Across its pitted, uneven surface, tiny dark-green pearls were nestled into the holes, giving it a thoroughly peculiar appearance.
"Of these three items, while the book in the center is the most valuable, for me, obtaining the pouch takes priority!"
Leilin composed his expression and walked calmly up to the platform.
Anything stored in a wizard's storeroom would have defensive magical arrays laid around its perimeter — and often additional spell formations inscribed directly on the items themselves.
Moreover, most of these formations carried self-destruct properties. If the unlocking method was wrong, the item would often destroy itself, leaving thieves with nothing.
However, Leilin and the other dark wizards of the Thousand-Leaf Hand were seasoned practitioners of this sort of work, each possessing their own expertise and tricks when it came to unlocking wards.
Back in the secondary storeroom, Leilin had used dark wizard unlocking techniques to successfully claim several of the most precious items.
