"Shadow Fireball!"
Leilin raised his right hand, and hundreds of small black fireballs continuously condensed and merged in front of him, finally growing to the size of a human head. The black at their centers grew ever denser, bottomless, as if they could吸 in a person's very soul.
Under the scorching heat, even the yellow-brown gravity glow on the ground began to flicker and waver.
Looking at the giant across from him, a cold light flashed in Leilin's eyes.
The Shadow Fireball tore through the air, seeming to cross space in an instant as it arrived before the Metal Giant.
The black fire's searing heat field immediately caused the Metal Giant's surface to tremble. Liquid metal melted continuously, dripping onto the ground.
Facing this terrifying attack, Marbu gritted his teeth and grabbed his own right arm with his left hand!
Crack!
A bone-crunching sound set teeth on edge. Marbu's right arm had been snapped off by his own hand.
"Go!" The manic expression on Marbu's face grew even more intense as he hurled his severed right arm toward the Shadow Fireball.
The half metallic arm began to melt and transform in midair, finally reshaping into an oval metal sphere that collided head-on with the black fireball!
Boom!!!
A massive sphere of light expanded outward in all directions. At its very center, a point of black and silvery-white light writhed against each other, devouring…
Even though Marbu had retreated as far as he could, the energy still caught him. Crack! The gravity magical array on his chest shattered instantly!
Snap!
The yellow-brown gravity magical array on the ground collapsed completely, and the surrounding gravity returned to normal in an instant.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Explosions followed one after another, crackling across the ground like popping beans.
In just a dozen seconds, this stretch of land had been completely leveled, with even the surface scraped away by a thick layer.
At the center, a massive crater yawned, dark and unfathomable.
After the dust settled, Leilin strolled calmly to the edge of the great pit. Looking at the wisps of black flame still burning here and there, a glint seemed to pass through his eyes. "Dead?"
Whoosh!
A silvery-white figure shot through the curtain of ash and arrived before Leilin.
"Marbu?!" A look of shock and anger surfaced on Leilin's face as he retreated rapidly!
"Aah! Aah! Aaah…" Marbu's current state was wretched beyond belief. Not only had he lost his right arm, but deep, bone-visible wounds raked across his chest and thighs.
The one at his waist was particularly horrific — it had nearly cleaved him in two.
For an ordinary person, or even a formal Wizard, injuries like these would make survival itself a challenge, let alone charging forward!
But Marbu was clearly different. Liquid metal flowed ceaselessly from his body, coating and forcibly stitching his flesh back together.
The moment he saw Leilin, silvery light shot from his eyes like something solid.
Bang bang!
Two massive metal bombs detonated behind him, the shockwave slamming into his back.
Using this propulsion, he caught up to Leilin in just a few strides.
"Die together!" Marbu lunged forward.
In midair, his entire body came apart, spreading out into a silvery-white curtain of metal.
The metal curtain seemed alive as it wrapped tightly around Leilin, leaving only his head exposed.
"Hmm? An interesting attack! Is this your last resort?" Leilin looked at the silvery liquid metal cocooning him like a chrysalis, yet his expression held no trace of panic.
Glug! Glug!
A large mass of liquid metal gathered at Leilin's shoulder, forming into the shape of an old man's head.
"For the family! For Bosain! Ultimate destruction of metal…" The old man's face was manic, carrying an almost martyred glow.
"I have to say… were you planning to die together with that puppet?"
Just as Marbu was about to detonate himself, another voice — languid and unhurried — drifted across from the other side of the battlefield.
Marbu turned his head in disbelief, and there he saw another Leilin standing on the field, regarding him with a mocking, cold gaze.
"You've forgotten! I'm a Wizard who primarily studies Shadow energy particles. For us, creating a shadow double is far too simple…"
As Leilin spoke, the "Leilin" bound within Marbu's grip began to undergo a strange transformation.
The entire body turned black in an instant, dissolving into a mass of pitch-dark shadow.
"Oh! No!" A pair of silvery-white hands burst from the curtain as Marbu screamed, trying to break free from the substitute.
"It's already too late!" Leilin's voice came through, calm and carrying even a hint of pity.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
The great mass of shadow within Marbu's embrace suddenly sprouted countless black tentacles, engulfing him entirely.
Marbu roared as countless tiny spinning blades erupted from his body.
Crack! Crack! The blades clashed against the tentacles, sending showers of sparks flying.
But these shadow tentacles were several times tougher than before. The silvery-white blades were gradually jammed in place, with some snapping outright.
