The annual author conference starts tomorrow, and I have zero chapters saved up over these past seven or eight days. The reason is that this part has a lot of material to cover and set up — it all needs to be planned out properly. And for me personally, the more slice-of-life and transitional chapters are actually the hardest to write, because I need to make them feel engaging and capture the right tone — warmth, a sense of accomplishment — without letting them devolve into a dry chronicle of events. So doing two updates a day is somehow even more exhausting than last month.
Anyway, that's my problem and none of yours — just venting a little. It won't affect the update schedule. To keep the pressure on myself, I'll maintain the daily two-chapter updates during the conference! The posting times might be a bit erratic, though. If I fall behind, every chapter I owe will be paid back two chapters at a time, and so on. I'm begging everyone for your support with monthly tickets!
Also, the Qidian Annual Work Awards have begun — you can see it on the homepage and in the Arcane synopsis blurb. I'd really like to push for the Annual Work vote, because one of the prizes is an illustration collection for Arcane. For me, that beats any monetary reward. I'd love to see what Lucian looks like in illustrations, so I'm pleading with everyone to cast your Annual Work votes. The competition is fierce, but we've got to at least try — how can we just give up before even making a run at it?
Oh right, every reader gets a free Annual Work vote. I'm asking for those free ones — today Arcane's average subscriptions just passed ten thousand, so I want to ask everyone for three free votes!
And I wouldn't say no to recommendation tickets either. Haha~rs
