Yesterday I saw some readers worried that blind mass-releasing would affect the quality of the plot. Please rest assured — if I'm stuck and have no ideas, I'd rather take a day off than push out a chapter carelessly. Besides, I went full-time starting last month. Three time slots a day works out to exactly three chapters, and I also have time to work out the plot. The reason there were fewer bonus chapters before was mainly because I kept getting stuck and my procrastination was severe.
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but the original reasons I started writing were, first, that the ideas had built up to the point where I had to get them out, and second, to cure my "terminal-stage procrastination." Back when I had a day job, I'd sit with a cup of hot water, slowly finish breakfast, then read through the forums, news, and novel updates before I'd finally start working. Even when things were urgent, I'd drag things out to the very last moment and end up in a total mess. Since online serialization has strict time requirements, I chose to start writing as a way to "treat myself."
So, push me a little and I still have some potential in me. But when I'm stuck on a plot point or working out the storyline, I won't hesitate to take a day off.
Anyway, there won't be too many bonus chapters going forward, because my reason for quitting my job was simple — writing took up all my spare time, leaving me no time to read. And for me, not reading means life feels incomplete, and my inspiration gradually dries up.
