The recent pace of updates has been slow, and I'm sorry about that, but I haven't been able to keep you all informed properly.
My grandfather has been sick during this time, and I've been making trips back and forth to the hospital. On top of that, my baby was just born, so I've been extremely busy and physically exhausted. The updates have been very slow, and I haven't released any standalone chapters because I honestly didn't know what to say.
For the next while, the updates for Tales of Demons and Gods will continue to be slow.
The main reason is that I need to take care of my own health. I don't want to push myself until something breaks. Over these years, so many people have gotten sick — just thinking about it makes me uneasy. It's better to pace yourself and go the long haul. In life, nothing matters besides life and death. I'd love to write more and earn more money too, but sometimes there's just nothing you can do.
When you have free time, you can check out some of my other works — Nine Star Hegemon Body Art, Reborn as a Thief, The Bold Thief, and so on. After all, over the years I've written quite a few stories.
As for Tales of Demons and Gods, just let me take my time with it.
These years, I've watched what's happened to authors in the industry. A lot of them are in terrible health. Most of the time, we simply can't crank out updates like young people anymore.
Lately, I've also been thinking about my own career as a writer. After the New Year is over, I'll have some new news for everyone.
For the past eight years, almost every Chinese New Year, I've spent sitting in front of my computer.
Now that I think about it, I'd rather spend a good New Year with my family and with my grandfather. He's already eighty years old and seriously ill — there probably aren't many more chances I'll get to celebrate the New Year with him. (To be continued.)
