Description
Deirdre Fou Roseblade is the heir of House Roseblade, a wealthy noble line with a sharp commercial reputation. Glamorous, elegantly dressed, and visibly entertained by everything that surprises her, she is what the matriarchal court considers a top-tier socialite — and what Leon considers a particularly elaborate trap.
Once she realises Leon Fou Bartfort is a quiet political and military heavyweight pretending to be a backwater idiot, she takes a long, public interest in him: partly as House Roseblade's strategic option, partly because his expression when she flirts at him is genuinely amusing.
She becomes an on-and-off ally and would-be additional spouse, her courtly polish offsetting Leon's bluntness in negotiations he would otherwise lose.
