Chapter 626: Next Stop, Liwan Town!

"Why is he coming over here?" couldn't quite figure out the other party's intentions. "Does he plan to offend everyone on this bus? Applying 'equal treatment' on a hearse like this seems a bit inappropriate."

The new passenger naturally couldn't hear Chen Ge's thoughts. The instant his shoe fell, two sets of footsteps—one before, the other after—would appear inside the bus, creating a very eerie effect.

Watching the person walk to the very back of the bus, Chen Ge started to feel uneasy. This hothead was carrying the curse of the Red High Heels.

He shifted slightly to the side. This wasn't because he was afraid; he simply didn't want to be implicated and waste his energy for nothing.

Chen Ge's movement was noticed by the new passenger. His gaze swept over the doctor and Chen Ge, finally settling on Chen Ge with an exaggerated, morbid smile.

"You're afraid." A tone of certainty, cold eyes. The new passenger's lips curved upward, as if he already had everything under control—nothing happening inside this bus could escape his notice.

"A little," Chen Ge admitted without any shame.

"The more afraid you are, the worse things will get." The new passenger seemed to have finally chosen his spot. Holding the package and scissors in one hand, he reached out with the other to grab Chen Ge's backpack and travel bag.

He didn't go for Chen Ge himself, but straight for the backpack. Chen Ge encountered someone like this for the first time. His brow furrowed slightly as he wondered if the new passenger had somehow sensed the ghost hidden inside the backpack?

Perhaps only two seconds passed before Chen Ge dismissed that notion.

The new passenger grabbed the backpack strap with a strange laugh, gripping it and tugging upward. To everyone's surprise, the bag didn't budge. This seemingly ferocious new passenger couldn't lift Chen Ge's backpack with one hand.

"Heh." A low, cold laugh. The new passenger tried again, the muscles on his arm tensing as he used his full strength to finally lift Chen Ge's backpack and hurl it to the floor.

*Thud!*

The things inside the bag were heavy. It hit the ground with a dull, heavy sound.

"What's inside?" The new passenger raised his chin, pointing the sharp tip of the scissors toward Chen Ge's eyes.

"I work with props at the amusement park. The bag has tools I use for work—just very common things." Chen Ge raised his hands in a very practiced, honest manner. He would do the same when he saw police at a crime scene, to prevent any unnecessary conflict.

The practiced motion, the earnest tone—it was clear this wasn't Chen Ge's first time doing this.

Chen Ge's "cowardice" pleased the new passenger. He scanned the entire bus; this young man in front of him looked like the easiest to bully.

He extended his tongue, laboriously licking at a wound, and finally sat down next to Chen Ge.

Chen Ge slowly lowered his hands and glanced sideways. Hearing the new passenger's tone just now, he had thought the guy was about to start something—at least open the bag to check. Who would have thought the fellow was all thunder and no rain, not even bothering to find a "step down" before simply sitting.

"Um... are you also going to Liwan Town?" Chen Ge found this new passenger a bit interesting. The moment he boarded, he started provoking people, his actions and expressions a bit over-the-top, as if he were afraid others wouldn't know he was a psychopathic killer.

"Who would take this midnight bus for the dead if not to go to Liwan Town?" The new passenger examined Chen Ge up close. He felt that out of the entire bus, only this young man seemed normal, like a decent person.
